Make-Your-Own Bouquet

What's so special about this?

• The flowers are floppy!*
• Random, computer-generated bouquet. Now that's cool.
• The flowers sway in the breeze.*
• Move the vase, and it floppilly moves only the flowers within it.*
• Flowers and everything else hand-drawn.

*We’re so accustomed to seeing this in the real world, that it’s difficult to appreciate the work involved in getting computers to simulate it!

zbrainz Personal Experiment
as in “My computer needs zbrainz.”

Are they jellyfish? Are they rocket-powered basketballs? I don't know. Okay. Sure.

These little creatures will someday have brains. But in the mean time, it only seems like they do.

• They bouce off each other realistically. That's quite an accomplishment! Can anyone say “over 80 lines of arcTangents, Sines, Cosines, velocity calculations, and the Pythagorean Theorem?”
• Click “birth” to make new creatures.
• When there’s too many, some will die because there’s not enough food.
• After a while, they get bigger. Eventually too big.
• Click and drag the little guys, or pause and play frame-by-frame.
• Oh yeah: double-click a creature to “expunge” it. (ew!)

Dynamic World Map
For The Scary Guy, through Scott Burnett

The Scary Guy is pretty scary. At first. But his personality and his cause greatly overcome first impressions. He travels the world and speaks against hate, violence, and predjudice.

So we created a dynamic Flash map on which he can “pin” the locations he has visited. Visitors can then click any one of them for more information.

• A password-protected administrative mode allows on-the-fly updating.
• Dynamically loads location data.
• Dynamically saves location data via a server-based ASP script.
